靜宜大學國際教育與跨文化交流受肯定，美國加州喜瑞都學院（Cerritos College）學生連續3年來台參加靜宜大學為期3周的華語暨文化研習營隊。研習課程結合華語學習、在地探索及跨文化交流，讓學生透過沉浸式學習深入認識台灣的人文特色，並與靜宜師生建立深厚友誼，共同提升全球移動力與國際競爭力。

靜宜大學國際學院院長蔡英德表示，本次研習課程涵蓋華語文學習、台灣文化體驗及移地教學，將聽、說、讀、寫等語言技能融入互動式教學活動，並搭配中文日常生活會話課程，讓學生透過實際情境練習華語，提升語言應用能力。

靜宜大學寰宇管理學士學位學程助理教授林素菁指出，課程結合中部地區地理、人文及產業資源，將學習場域延伸至社區與戶外場域，透過梧棲老街實境解謎、民俗技藝體驗及原住民族文化學習等活動，引導學生深入認識台灣宗教信仰、節慶文化及特色飲食。研習期間亦安排茶藝、書法等文化工作坊，讓學生在實作中運用華語，進一步認識台灣文化內涵。

國際學院華語助教團隊以流利的中英文能力，全程協助美籍學生練習華語、認識校園與在地文化，並透過課內外交流活動分享台灣生活經驗，讓學生將課堂所學實際運用於日常生活情境中，深化跨文化互動與理解。靜宜學生也設計華語學習體驗攤位，邀請美國學生實際參與並提供回饋，透過互動遊戲驗證教學設計成效，展現華語教學專業與國際共學成果。

擔任營隊助教的寰宇外語教育學士學位學程張晏瑜表示，參與研習的美籍學生對華語學習及台灣人文特色充滿熱情，透過交流互動，拓展不同文化視野，也建立深厚友誼。有學生分享「台灣最美的風景是人」，認為台灣人的熱情與友善讓他們感到溫暖，也讓張晏瑜深刻感受到跨文化交流最珍貴的價值。

喜瑞都學院學生對此次研習課程給予高度肯定，並表示，透過課程學習華語、體驗台灣文化及與學伴交流，不僅提升中文能力，也深入認識台灣社會與多元文化，並結識來自不同背景的新朋友。大家一致認為，此次研習不僅提升華語能力，也增進對台灣文化的理解，更是一段珍貴的跨文化交流經驗，為未來拓展國際視野奠定良好基礎。

Providence University has once again earned recognition for its commitment to international education and cross-cultural exchange. For the third consecutive year, students from Cerritos College in California, USA, traveled to Taiwan to participate in Providence University's three-week Chinese Language and Cultural Study Program. The program integrates Chinese language learning, local exploration, and intercultural exchange, providing students with an immersive learning experience that deepens their understanding of Taiwan's rich cultural heritage while fostering lasting friendships with Providence University faculty and students. Together, these experiences enhance students' global mobility and international competitiveness.

Professor Ying-Te Tsai, Dean of the International College at Providence University, noted that the program combines Chinese language instruction, Taiwanese cultural experiences, and off-campus experiential learning. Interactive teaching methods integrate listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills with practical daily Chinese conversation classes, enabling students to apply the language in authentic situations and strengthen their communication abilities.

Professor Su-Ching Lin, Assistant Professor in the Global Management Bachelor's Program, explained that the curriculum draws upon the geographical, cultural, and industrial resources of central Taiwan by extending learning beyond the classroom into local communities. Activities such as an interactive puzzle-solving adventure in Wuqi Old Street, traditional folk arts experiences, and Indigenous cultural learning introduced students to Taiwan's religious traditions, festivals, and local cuisine. The program also included tea ceremony and Chinese calligraphy workshops, allowing students to practice Chinese while gaining a deeper appreciation of Taiwanese culture.

Throughout the program, the International College's Chinese Language Teaching Assistant team, fluent in both Chinese and English, supported the American students in practicing Chinese, becoming familiar with campus life, and exploring local culture. Through both classroom and extracurricular activities, the TAs shared their experiences of living in Taiwan and encouraged students to apply what they learned in real-life situations, fostering deeper intercultural understanding. Providence University students also designed interactive Chinese language learning booths, inviting the American students to participate and provide feedback. These engaging activities demonstrated the effectiveness of their teaching design while showcasing the University's achievements in Chinese language education and international collaborative learning.

Professor Sunday Obazuaye, who led the Cerritos College delegation, expressed his sincere appreciation to Providence University and the International College for their continued support and warm hospitality. He remarked that the program not only enriched students' life experiences but also broadened their international perspectives, encouraging them to embrace the world with greater openness. He also expressed his hope that the partnership between the two institutions will continue to grow, creating more opportunities for Providence University students to study at Cerritos College and further promoting international mobility and cross-cultural exchange.

Chang Yen-Yu, a student in the Bachelor’s Program in Global Language Education and one of the camp teaching assistants, shared that the American students showed great enthusiasm for learning Chinese and exploring Taiwanese culture. Through daily interactions, both Taiwanese and American students broadened their cultural perspectives and built lasting friendships. One student commented that, “The most beautiful scenery in Taiwan is its people,” highlighting the warmth and friendliness of the Taiwanese people. For Chang, this perfectly reflected the true value of cross-cultural exchange.

The students from Cerritos College spoke highly of the program, noting that learning Chinese, experiencing Taiwanese culture, and interacting with local student partners not only improved their Chinese language proficiency but also deepened their understanding of Taiwanese society and its diverse culture while allowing them to make friends from different backgrounds. They agreed that the program was far more than a language course—it was a meaningful cross-cultural experience that laid a strong foundation for expanding their global perspectives in the future.
